Philanthropy
Heather is a valued advocate for multiple philanthropic organizations. She is a Cause Celebrity for Organ Donation and deeply involved in supporting the public education efforts of the New York Organ Donor Network. As a board member of the Kellner Pediatric Liver Foundation, Heather works to reduce the incidence of pediatric liver disease by raising funds and awareness for the foundation. Having personally experienced the impact of these advocacies with her son, she makes every effort to promote and support their initiatives both locally and nationwide. In 2010, Heather was honored with the City of Hope’s annual Spirit of Life Award recognizing her tireless efforts to promote power and self-confidence in women of all ages around the world. In addition to Organ Donation, Heather is an advocate for Tick-Borne Disease Alliance, a national campaign to raise awareness for Lyme and tick-borne diseases. In January 2014, Heather stood before the Senate with fellow TBDA advocates to fight for this cause. In 2015 Heather became an ambassador for the organization No Barriers USA, whose mission is to unleash the potential of the human spirit though transformative experiences, tools and inspiration.
