Rituals can help lead us to our goals and our dreams

When performed on purpose, rituals are incredibly powerful.

They can help us to experience everyday life with a deeper meaning and enjoyment. Rituals have the power to ground and stabilize us; to keep us focused and purposeful. Rituals can help to increase confidence, by providing a sense of security and they can even help to alleviate the weight of grief and, help us to reduce anxiety.  Above all, rituals can help us to increase happiness. Modern culture can lead us to feel that life needs to be constantly exciting, Instagram worthy, happy and satisfying. While rituals can help you to rest perfectly in the ordinary elements of life, sprinkling them with magic.

One of my favorite times to re-affirm my purpose, set intentions, and manifest my dreams is during a full moon. (our next one is May 26th). The moon has an influence on the cycles and natural rhythms of life. From the movement of the oceans to our bodily fluids and our emotions, everything that moves on the planet Earth is moved to some degree, by the moon. I like to call-in the energy of the moon, to mark the start of healthy changes, to let go of what no longer serves me, to take care of my body, to take a leap of faith, or even to have an abundant summer garden, I like to ask the full moon to assist me.

I like to ask each Full Moon to assist me in a harmonious way…I set my intentions and say, “Moon, moon beautiful moon, fill me up, fill me up, fill me up! I believe, I believe, I believe.”

Maybe this May, you can try it too. Full Moons are the zenith of something that has reached completion. It's when all the energies have gathered to the extent of the most powerful full moon, the natural next step is a new phase. Full Moons are the best time to take inventory of what no longer serves us to make space for something better to come in, to let go of unwanted habits, people, or circumstances.

Rituals are different from habits and practices, but all three can be put together to create a framework for living well. Whether I set my intentions with the moon or a beautiful sunrise, I continue to incorporate rituals into my life to help me focus and stay consistent.  For example, a glass of water is just water until you choose to drink it every morning, warm and infused with lemon; silently and gratefully considering how it nurtures your body with you first sip.

Start your own list, share it on social media, bring in your crew or email me here, just to share…
The more we share and express our goals and desires the better we feel and make them real, even if it’s just to the moon…

I’ll be standing under it with you.

Love, Heather
